CCSS 5th grade Reading Vocabulary

Yes...I know we are off from school today, but as many of my teacher friends know, we are NEVER off from schoolwork! So, with that being said, I have just spent the last hour or so creating what looks like nothing---NWEA MAP words for reading in the RIT bands 201-220.

I am trying to fill-in-the-gaps with words that don't show up in a TPT purchase I made of Literary Devices this summer.

Immigration in America early 1900s

Just finished revamping my IMMIGRATION powerpoint presentation. It is wordy, but so is the South Carolina support document! Buh-dum-dum!

I always have my kids make T-charts (they know I am obsessed with them) to help them understand the shifts from being an "old" immigrant to "new" immigrant in early 20th century America. Also, for this lesson, I am going to print them a map of Europe and Asia and we will color code Old vs New immigrants by country. Geography skills are totally lacking these days, so I try to add it as much as possible!!

Land and Water Science Unit

I found a very quick powerpoint that can either be used whole group, or as a differentiation tool for the students who need less of the "bells and whistles" in order to understand content vocabulary in science.

Gofundme Personal page

My Gofundme Page

I'm a mother, wife, and public school teacher living in South Carolina. A month ago, I had a ruptured appendix, had surgery, but was hospitalized two more times after. My medical bills are piling up, but I can't pay them because as a teacher here, I don't get disability! I am also being docked pay for being out past my sick day allowance. I have helped others in the past, and i hope you will give as much as you can to help me. Thanks so much!!

Industrial Revolution in America

My students are starting the Industrial Revolution, so I made this powerpoint. It adheres to the South Carolina Standard 3.1
