It is truly amazing what my students come up with ON THEIR OWN. I didn't even have them take notes...these children just took it upon themselves to create their own! Awesome pictures, colors, and use of content vocabulary!

Conflicts and Cooperation in the West--SS and ELA

I am doing a Jigsaw Reading activity for Conflicts and Cooperations during Westward Expansion. I added a "cheat sheet" for doing a Jigsaw read for my teacher friends that have never done this before.

By just copying and pasting the support document "The Students MUST KNOW" information into Word documents, I am enabling my students to see all the testable vocabulary and all the information is right there for them. No more searching for "great" articles off of the internet. USE YOUR RESOURCES--don't work harder, work smarter!

Each year, my students get an afternoon to set up and design their Interactive Social Studies notebooks.These notebooks will store EVERYTHING from vocabulary, to notes, to foldables, etc. from Reconstruction to the present day. This is mine for the 2012-2013 school year.

I printed a bunch of themed based pictures, then cut them out to fit, and created my collage. It's fun!
